Artist's Description

Originally named White City when it opened its doors in 1908 and was originally built in the Exposition and White City architectural styles. Architect Richard L. Crowther designed much of the Art Deco and Modern features and included a great deal of neon lighting in his work. The park has been family-owned since the 1930s when it changed its name to Lakeside Amusement Park.

Lakeside is one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States, and the oldest in Colorado in its original location. After all these years, it still continues to be a popular amusement park destination for Denver locals.

I love the architecture of this ticket booth. I used a technique called HDR where I took several shots of the same image at different exposure then later merged them together. It really makes these colors pop. Then I painted in the sky for a more dramatic look.
